Therapy Approaches
-
EMDR
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based approach that supports healing from trauma by helping the brain reprocess distressing memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity. EMDR can be especially helpful for survivors of interpersonal violence, those living with PTSD, or anyone who feels “stuck” in the aftermath of painful experiences. Sessions are tailored to your comfort and readiness, integrating grounding and stabilization strategies alongside reprocessing work.
-
Individual Therapy
In individual therapy, I tailor our work to your goals, readiness, and pace. We begin by clarifying what you hope to gain from therapy and collaboratively create a plan to support your growth. Sessions often combine exploration of past experiences with practical tools for the present. Depending on your needs, therapy may be brief and solution-focused or a longer-term process of deep healing and transformation.
-
Couples Therapy
Relationships can be a profound source of connection, but they also bring challenges. I work with couples to strengthen communication, deepen trust, and navigate conflict in healthier ways. My approach is inclusive and affirming of diverse partnerships, including queer, interracial, and intercultural relationships. Whether you’re looking to heal after a rupture, re-discover closeness, or navigate life transitions together, couples therapy offers a space to grow both individually and as a partnership.
-
Group Therapy
Group therapy provides the opportunity to connect with others who share similar struggles or goals. I facilitate groups designed to offer support, foster resilience, and reduce isolation. In a group setting, participants can learn new skills, witness others’ healing, and gain perspective on their own journey. Past groups have focused on trauma recovery, relationship healing, and mindfulness-based coping skills.
