About Me

I’ve dedicated my career to creating spaces where people feel safe enough to heal, supported enough to grow, and empowered to take meaningful steps forward in their lives and relationships.

Over the past two decades, my work has focused on trauma recovery and system transformation. I’ve supported survivors of interpersonal violence while helping universities, law-enforcement agencies, and community organizations build practices that are responsive, effective, inclusive, and trauma-informed. As a therapist, I bring that institutional knowledge into personalized care that addresses individual and systemic variables while integrating evidence-based approaches such as EMDR and somatic resourcing with emerging work in olfactory healing and nervous-system regulation.

I earned my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, the nation’s top-ranked program in the field. My professional experience spans clinical practice, higher education, organizational consultation, and public training. As the founding Director of CARE, the interpersonal-violence prevention and advocacy center at the University of California, Irvine, I led one of the most comprehensive campus-based programs in the country for over fifteen years. This work helped shape systemwide models and policies across the University of California and informed similar efforts on campuses nationwide.

As a recipient and manager of millions of dollars in U.S. Department of Justice (OVW) funding, I’ve trained and advised grantees, service providers, and institutional leaders across the nation. My expertise has been sought by the U.S. Navy and Marines; university systems including the University of California, California State University campuses, Claremont Colleges, and the Orange Coast Community College District; as well as law-enforcement agencies such as Anaheim PD, Irvine PD, and UC Irvine PD. I’ve presented at national conferences including IVAT, NASPA, and APA. Across all of these spaces, my work is driven by a single aim: to help individuals and institutions cultivate environments where healing, accountability, and human dignity can coexist.

Whether you’re seeking support for your own healing, advanced training for your team, or consultation on developing trauma-informed systems, I offer grounded, relational approaches rooted in science, equity, and deep care.
